Social Networking has extremely impacted the communication habits of people on the internet. On the other hand, increasingly people carry their treasured multimedia content in small mobile devices like smart phones, PDAs, mp3/dvd players, memory sticks, cameras, and so forth. Tremendous interesting customized applications can be imagined with spontaneous social networking over mobile devices in the events/locations such as conferences, expositions, galleries, stadiums, and finally bars and restaurants. Enabling people to share their experiences, to communicate, and to have access to the comments of others without need to have internet access and with minimum required infrastructure is the main idea behind spontaneous social networking. Considering, auto-organization, scalability, and distributed architecture, P2P technology can play the key role in creating such kind of social networking.
The focus of this special issue is on the P2P spontaneous social networks. The limited resources on the mobile devices, the ad hoc wireless network instability, and the mobility of the nodes raise important challenges. The scalability of the feeding system, the reliability, data dissemination, and adaptation to the restrictions in ad hoc networks conditions can be considered as the main humps in the way. This special issue invites the original papers in the following topics, not limited to them:
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located athttp://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijdmb/guidelines.html. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/, according to the following timetable:
Manuscript Due | August 1, 2009 |
First Round of Reviews | November 1, 2009 |

Call for Papers
7th IEEE Symposium on Application Specific Processors (SASP 2009)
27-28 July 2009
Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco CA USA
http://www.sasp-conference.org
co-located with the
Design Automation Conference (DAC)
http://www.dac.com
Proceedings will appear in the IEEE Digital Library; a special issue in a major ACM or IEEE journal is also planned for the best papers.
SASP 2009 Areas of Interest
==============================
(more details on the web site)
The market for embedded processors is driven primarily by two factors:
cost and volume. This has forced a reevaluation of the best way to satisfy users' needs for high performance and low energy consumption without drastically increasing the complexity of the design process.
Domain-specific embedded processors, in markets such as network processing, automotive, and others, have splintered a pre-existing market for general-purpose, low-cost, low-energy processors.
Reprogrammable and reconfigurable embedded processors, in contrast, offer a single, fixed-silicon device that could amortize manufacturing costs for low-to-medium volume market segments.
SASP explores (micro)architectural design approaches, trade-offs and compiler technologies, for both domain-specific and customizable embedded processors. The symposium is a forum wherein challenges and solutions will be explored, discussed and compared.
Major topics include, but are not limited to:
- Domain-specific processors (network, multimedia, etc.)
- Application-specific hardware accelerators
- Microarchitectural customization techniques
- (Re)configurable architectures (coarse-grained, FPGA, etc.)
- Application specific processors in system-on-a-chip (SOC)
- Application specific customizations for low-power
- Applications and/or industrial experience
- Compiler technology targeting customizable processors
- Tools, techniques, and algorithms for architectural exploration
- Novel methodologies for hardware/software codesign
- Application specific MPSoC and design Automation for NoCs
- Hardware/software for GPUs and other graphics/gaming platforms
- OS and Middleware support for application specific processors
SASP 2008 Paper Submission
============================
The Program Committee invites authors to submit papers up to
8 pages in length, describing original, unpublished work.
Published papers will be 6 pages in length, and authors will have the opportunity to purchase up to 2 additional pages for a fee. Papers submitted to SAP must be not under review elsewhere.
Papers should clearly describe the nature of the work, explain its significance, highlight novel features, and describe its current status. Paper submission will be considered evidence that, upon acceptance, the author(s) will present their paper at the symposium.
Electronic submission through the symposium website is required.
